Pizza Kat
Pizza Kat is a newish spot in the area, serving up some of the best pies I’ve had with a wonderful, chewy, “I can’t believe it’s not gluten” style thin crust available. Located across the street from RingSide Steakhouse on West Burnside, it’s a great stop for lunch or dinner when in the downtown area or before or after a game at Providence Park around the corner.
I’ve ordered a variety of pizzas here over the years and the quality is reliably top notch every time. I most recently ordered the Hot Salami pizza (pictured). Not to be confused with Oven & Shaker’s Spicy Salami pie, this one is definitely different. More focused on the marinara, the salami, peppers, onion and olive oil than the ooey gooey cheese blend on Oven & Shaker’s pie. I would prefer more goat cheese as I’m a cheese fiend, but this is a good choice if you want to feel a little less guilty about your pizza indulgence, or if you suffer from mild lactose intolerance.
I’ve only ever ordered delivery from Pizza Kat, but they do dine-in service as well in their spot on West Burnside, across the street from legendary Ringside Steakhouse, along with cocktails, beer and wine. I also just noticed they have in-house made ice cream, which means it’s definitely time for another visit soon!
